Noia
Noia ( official name in Galician language, the Spanish term is Noya ) is a small town in the Spanish province of A Coruña. The city lies on the Rio Tambre and on the Atlantic Fisheries ( Shellfish ) is the main source of income of the inhabitants. The city is also known for high-quality leather and leather products, especially shoes.
Historically significant is the cemetery, one of the oldest in Europe; some of the remarkable grave stones date from the 10th century. In the secularized church of Santa Maria a Nova in the middle of the cemetery grave stones are exhibited. These often carry stylized drawings of people, plants or other drawings that suggest to the profession of the deceased.
