Nolan Yonkman

Nolan Yonkman ( born April 1, 1981 in Punnichy, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2013 at the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Nolan Yonkman began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active for the Kelowna Rockets and Brandon Wheat Kings from 1996 to 2001. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the second round than a total of 37 players from the Washington Capitals. For the Farm Team Portland Pirates played the defender from 2001 to 2005 in the American Hockey League, where he due to several serious knee injuries missed a lot of the games from 2002. In his first four years in the franchise of the Washington Capitals, he only came to a total of twelve missions in the National Hockey League. Only in the 2005/06 season, he received more ice age in the NHL, as he prepared seven goals in 38 games for Washington. In parallel, he played six games for Washington's new AHL farm team Hershey Bears.

On 17 July 2006 Yonkman signed a contract as a free agent with the Nashville Predators, but played in the next four years exclusively for their AHL farm team Milwaukee Admirals, where he was team captain from 2007 to 2010. In July 2010, the Canadians moved to the Phoenix Coyotes, for in 16 NHL games, he prepared a goal in the 2010/11 season. The majority of the playing time he spent, however, in their AHL farm team San Antonio Rampage. In July 2011 he was awarded a contract as a free agent with the Florida Panthers, which mainly put it in the following three seasons in the farm team for the San Antonio Rampage. In July 2013, the Canadians signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
