Nomada succincta

Nomada succincta

Nomada succincta is a bee in the family Apidae. Some authors consider the species as synonymous with Nomada goodeniana.

Features

The bees have a body length of 10 to 13 millimeters. The head and thorax of the female is black and is marked yellow. The tergites are black and wearing large yellow napkins. The black labrum has strong teeth behind the front edge. The third antennal segment is shorter than the fourth. The probe shaft and often subsequent limbs are black on the top. The tag ( scutellum ) has two yellow spots. The rails ( tibia ) at the end of the hind legs are dull and have two spaced small spines. The males look like the females, but their labrum is yellow. The legs ( femora ) of the hind legs are mostly black, and have at hand, the same as the hips ( coxae ) of the hind legs yellowish hair spots. The small Dörnchen on the rear rails are not together.

Occurrence and life

The species is widespread in southern and central Europe. The animals fly from late March to late June. They parasitize Andrena labialis, Andrena Andrena nitida nigroaeneaund and maybe Andrena curvungula.
