Nonfermenter

Fermenters ( not fermenting bacteria ) are a taxonomically diverse group of aerobic bacteria of the Proteobacteria division, glucose oxidation, or not degrade and are not capable of fermentation. But that does not rule out that some species can degrade other sugars.

These coccoid or rod-shaped bacteria can be assigned to wet germs. They are not spore formers and also Gram- negative. Some species are also pathogens for humans, so their detection ( eg, API NE) has a great relevance in bacterial diagnostics.

In the following, only the genera are listed.

Represented are also pathogenic species such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Moraxella catarrhalis.
