Norodom Ranariddh Party

The Norodom Ranariddh Party - (symbol NRP; previously under Khmer Front Party, Norodom Ranariddh French Parti de ) is a royalist political party in Cambodia.

It bears the name of their party leader Prince Norodom Ranariddh. Before this came to the NRP, said the party " Khmer Front Party ".

Norodom Ranariddh from 1992 to 2006 Chairman of the royalist party FUNCINPEC (Front Uni National pour un Cambodge Indépendant, Neutre, Pacifique, et Coopératif ), which he left in 2006. Ranariddh from 1993 to 1997 First Prime Minister of Cambodia, later president of the National Assembly. In the local elections of 2007, the small party won a surprising number of votes. 2008, the NRP was achieved with two mandates of the entry into parliament.

The NRP rather pursues national targets and stands in opposition to the authoritarian Prime Minister Hun Sen. The strong Vietnamese minority in Cambodia is critical of the NRP. There are efforts for reunification of the two monarchist parties, the Norodom Ranariddh Party - and Funcinpec.
