Nostang
Nostang is a commune with 1397 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region.
Geography
The municipality is located in the southwest of the department about 10 kilometers east of the agglomeration of Lorient at the Ria d'Etel.
Nostang bordered to the north by the municipalities and Brandérion Languidic to the community Landévant, in the southeast in the East - separated by the river Landévant - to the communities Landaul and Locoal- Mendon, on the southwest by the municipality of Sainte -Hélène and to the west by the municipalities merlevenez and Kervignac. The southwestern border of the town of Sainte -Hélène forms of Goah Guillerm named middle reaches of the Étel before this rises to its estuary at the confluence with the Landévant. The place Nostang lies in the west of the municipality.
History
From prehistoric time, menhirs, dolmens and remains of a stone row found. There are also various relics from Celtic times in Nostang. The local foundation dates back to the Romans who founded the church in the northeastern area of the Roman road from Quimper to Vannes a rest area or military posts. From the time of the Breton settlement from the 5th century AD, the place name derives Nostang whose rear part consists of the Breton stang for pond. The community Nostang is founded in 1790 and initially belongs to the canton Kervignac before 1801 is assigned to the Canton Port- Louis.

The community is east bound on the D33 after Landévant and northward over the D158 after Brandérion on the highway N165.
Outside of school transport and on market days in Hennebont There is no public transport line after Nostang. The nearest train stations are in regional traffic in Brandérion and Landévant, with long-distance connection in Lorient and Auray. The nearest airport is Lorient Bretagne Sud.
