Languidic

Languidic ( breton.: Langedig ) is a commune with 7309 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Lorient and the Canton Hennebont and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Lorient AgglomÃ.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 35 kilometers northwest of Vannes and 18 kilometers northeast of Lorient. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Quistinic in the north,
  • Baud in the Northeast,
  • Pluvigner and Landévant in the southeast,
  • Nostang in the south,
  • Brandérion and Kervignac in the southwest,
  • Hennebont and Inzinzac -Lochrist in the west and
  • Lanvaudan in the northwest.

The northern and western municipal boundary is formed by the Blavet River and its tributary Evel. More waters flow to the south, especially to be highlighted here is the Étel, which rises in the municipal area and flows into the Atlantic after 35 kilometers in an impressive Ria.

Transport links

The municipality is crossed by the National Road N24. Further road links provide the department roads D102 and D724. The two railway lines from Auray to Lorient and Pontivy from Auray to touch only briefly the community. In the latter, however, is the railway station of Baud, who has since been closed.
