Nová Olešná

Nová Olešná ( Czech to 1947: Německá Olešná; German German Wolleschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is twelve kilometers northeast of Hradec Jindřichův and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Nová Olešná is located in the valley of the brook Olešná in Javořická Highlands.

Neighboring towns are Česká Olešná in the north, Boretin in the northeast, Palupín in the east, in the southeast Strmilov, Vlčice and Maly Ratmírov in the south, Mutyněves the southwest, Matejovec in the west and Bednárec in the northwest.

History

Was first documented in the 12th century, the resulting village in 1379th Since the 16th century the remote location to a refuge of the Brethren was. At the end of the 19th century there were about 400 people in German Wolleschna. In 1947 the change of the name Německá Olešná in Nová Olešná.
