Nowa DÄ…browa, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Nowa Dąbrowa ( German Neu Damerow, Kashubian Novo DĄBROWA ) is a village in the northwest of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Potegowo ( Pottangow ) in the powiat Słupski ( Stolp ).

Geographical Location and Transport

Nowa Dąbrowa located in Pomerania, about 20 kilometers east of the county town of Slupsk ( Stolp ) in a plane between Stolpe ( Słupia ) and Lupow ( Łupawa ).

Through the town, the Polish country road runs 6 ( DK 6, former German Reich Straße 2, now also European Route 28), the Stettin Gdansk (formerly Berlin with Dirschau ) connects. In Nowa Dąbrowa of Żukowo ( Zuckau ) and pushes Kartuzy ( Karthaus ) about Sierakowice ( Sierakowitz ) and Czarna Dąbrówka ( Black Damerkow ) coming to the province road 211 DK 6

The nearest train station is seven kilometers north-west location Damnica ( Hebrondamnitz ) on the railway line from Stargard in Pomerania to Gdańsk.

Place name

The place was originally called Steifenphal. The German name " Neu Damerow " came in Pomerania twice. The Polish name " Nowa Dąbrowa " lists six villages.

History

Nowa Dąbrowa is a settlement village and between 1764 and the time of Frederick the Great. At the time, here Büdner seventeen and a pitcher were settled. In addition to agriculture was the woolen mill of the main branch of the population.

Neu Damerow was most recently a farming village. 1939 had 26 farms. In 1910 it counted 186 inhabitants, in 1933 there were 180 and in 1939 176

By 1945 Neu Damerow was a village in the administrative district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of the Prussian province of Pomerania. It was in the office and the civil registry district Wendish Karstnitz ( 1938-45 Ramnitz, today Polish: Karznica ) incorporated.

After 1945 Neu Damerow came as Nowa Dąbrowa to Poland and is now part of Gmina Potegowo in powiat Słupski the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( Stolp 1975-1998 Voivodeship ). Here today live not quite one hundred inhabitants.

Church

The population of Neu Damerow was Protestant before 1945. The Kirchdorf was Sageritz (now Polish: Zagórzyca ) and belonged to the Church Stolp -Altstadt Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. Last German minister was Pastor Walter Borchardt.

Since 1945, a predominantly Catholic population lives in Nowa Dąbrowa. Now Łupawa ( Lupow ) is the central Kirchdorf. It is in the deanery in the diocese Łupawa Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members belong to the Cross parish in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

School

In Neu Damerow was a school. 1932 taught at the elementary school a teacher 22 school children. Last German teacher was Friedrich Völkner.
