Nowotaniec

Nowotaniec [ nɔvɔ'taɲɛts ] ( German praise dance) is a village in the municipality Bukowsko Sanok district ( powiat Sanocki ), Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in the far southeast of Poland.

It is located in a wooded, hilly area on the road between Zarszyn and Bukowsko. The average height above sea level is 363 m.

Nowotaniec is located on the mountain Pielnica, which is fed here by several streams, which mainly of the nearby mountains Wysoka Gora (in the west, 432m ) and Bukowica (in the east, 541m ) comes. Neighboring villages are Nadolany in the north and in the south Nagorzany.

Nowotaniec owned from 1444 to 1946 the city rights ( = little town ).

History

Early on there was a ( Catholic ) church in stone Nowotaniec; also a primary school, a manor, an old castle, and a brewery. Every Monday was market day.

Later the name of Lobetanz was changed to Nebetanz, it has been common practice in the 16th century already. The Polish part of the form is derived from it. First farmers were a grocer and Mathias Fort gerber off briffevo de dorffe Lobedanc ( 1424).

In the files, there are two documents that were signed by Stanisław Bal Bal and Mathias, two castellans of Sanok. Nowotaniec was up to the time of King Stephen Báthory in the possession of those of Bal.

Next owners were the de Stano. Jerome de Stano was Calvinist and he reformed the local church. 1613 was the Counter-Reformation, but for the 1699 Bishop Denhoff is on a visit reported that near the castle Aleksander de Stano has found a Protestant church house. Later Boguslaw Stan sold the place to the Bukowski family. Under their rule, the still -existing church of St. Nicholas, which was consecrated in 1745 by Bishop Waclaw Hieronim Sierakowski was born.

From 1772 to 1914 the market Nowotaniec with the village Nagorzany the province of Galicia, Sanok district, tax district ( cadastral ) Bukowsko was duly. According to Bukowski Nowotaniec came to Bronieckis and finally to Victor Pozniak, who also held the burning, brewing and dispensing monopoly. Not far from the castle is Nowotaniec Zboiska, built in 1529 by the Palatinate Odnowski of Krakow.
