Nuno Morais
Nuno Miguel Barbosa Morais ( born January 29, 1984 in Penafiel ) is a Portuguese footballer who currently plays for APOEL Nicosia.
Career
Morais started his career with his hometown club FC Penafiel, until it had a three-year contract with the English club Chelsea signed with an unknown transfer fee in 2004. His debut he graduated in January 2005 at the FA Cup tie against Scunthorpe United. He played through the whole game.
However, he hardly came afterwards to a professional use, and spent most of his time in the reserve, as his compatriot Filipe Oliveira. Both were awarded in the 2005/2006 season at Marítimo Funchal. This summer, both at the U- 21 Football Championship in 2006 also played in the Portuguese U -21 in their own country. One difference already made in the previous round.
After the loan he returned to Chelsea and had two brief appearances of together less than 20 minutes at the two draws against Manchester United and Everton at home. On 11 May 2007 Morais joined free transfer to Cypriot club APOEL Nicosia.
During his time there Morais became a defensive midfielder and signed a new contract, valid until June 2012. Since his debut, he was an important part of the defensive and thus it was possible that you look at several titles, such as the First Division, the Cypriot Cup and twice the Cypriot Super Cup. So you even managed to enter the Champions League group stage as you in qualifying the teams EB / Streymur, FK Partizan Belgrade and FC Copenhagen could defeat. In the group stage they were the teams FC Porto, Atletico Madrid and his former club Chelsea clearly inferior and so one group was last.
National
Nuno Morais played between 2004 and 2006 for the Portuguese U -21 and participated in the U -21 Football Championship in 2006 partly in their own country, where you eliminated in the first round.
