The mansion Nütschau

Already around 830 Nütschauer the hill was built on the River Trave, which should protect as part of the Carolingian frontier fortifications the Limes Saxoniae between the Elbe and the Kiel Fjord. At the same place the current surge for Heinrich Rantzau was built from 1577. The Renaissance is one of the oldest mansions of Stormarn: From builders today still bears witness to a stone slab next to the previous input. The building is a - typical of Schleswig -Holstein - installation of multiple house each with a large gable roof. Originally built as a fortified building, the moats are now filled and no longer available. In the 18th century baroque ridge turret was placed on the middle house.

The mansion has now been included to a design by the architect Gisberth Hülsmann and Elmar Paul Sommer in the monastery. The double-barreled staircase of the main façade was uninstalled and in the left window of the house increases the mezzanine floor. Left hand now joins the entrance of the monastery and the convent building. In 2007 the renovation of the mansion was awarded the BDA award Schleswig Holstein.

The estate served as the backdrop for the 1958 movie The Girl from the marsh croft.
