Odrzechowa

Odrzechowa ( Ukr Odrexova ) is a village in the municipality Zarszyn ( from German: epithet very nice) in the powiat Sanocki in Poland. It is located in a hilly, wooded area, in the far southeast of Poland at the Pielnica, 12 km away in the direction of Bukowsko Zarszyn. The town is located 366 m above sea level and is known as the site of one of the Polish Hutsul studs.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1419 under this name, which goes back to the Old Polish personal names Odrzech or Odrzich. The name Odrzich can be derived from the Old German personal name Uodalrich ( > Ulrich) from Odelrik ( Low German ).
