Offa is a city in the state of Kwara in southwestern Nigeria with 113 841 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2005).
History
The city dates back to a Yorubasiedlung around the year 1000.
Economy
Offa is an important agricultural trade center for grain, yams, cassava, maize, sorghum, shea butter tree nuts, cattle, goats, sheep and poultry.
The most important industry is the textile industry, especially the dyeing of textiles with natural dyes from the local production.
Traffic
The town lies on the railway line from Lagos to Kano and Nguru and has road links to the north of the country to Ilorin and south to Oshogbo.
Education
In 1987, the College was founded in Adesoye Offa.
