Offenburger FV

The Offenburger FV is a pure football club with around 520 members (as of November 2008) from Offenburg to the west of Baden-Württemberg.

History

The club was founded on 20 July 1907 as Football Club 1907 Offenburg. The merger with the Football Club 1910 Offenburg was on February 8, 1913 Today's Offenburger football club in 1907. Many times the OFV will be referred to and described as FV Offenburg, but they are wrong.

Until the outbreak of the Second World War, the Offenburger FV was able to win several county league and district classes and district championships. In 1938, the promotion to the Gauliga Baden, who was then highest German league.

In the postwar period the Offenburger FV played in the first amateur league South Baden. The team has been able to win eleven Südbadische championships, most recently in the season 2010/11. In 1978, the Offenburger FV qualified for the newly founded Oberliga Baden- Württemberg. The greatest success was celebrated by winning the German amateur football championship on June 16, 1984. With a 4:1 SC Eintracht Hamm was defeated. After 13 years of continuous membership of the Offenburger FV 1991 dismounted from the Oberliga Baden- Württemberg. In 1994, the descent from the Association League South Baden in the national league. Two years later they failed in the Relegation 'Ascent at SV Endingen with 1:2 ( FC Neustadt 4:0). It took until 2001, in which the OFV could ascend to the fifth division ( 3-2 against SV 08 Laufenburg and 4-0 against Turkish SV Constance). Played there Offenburg, due to more professional structures in the environment, immediately a good role. Under the ex-pro and former OFV player Jürgen Hartmann, the club reached two times the rise of games for Serie A, but failed each. After the departure of Hartmann's Arnold Brunner was appointed coach for season 2007/ 08. In his first season, he managed his team to win the championship of the fifth division and return to the OFV after 17 years in the league. However, the stint lasted only one year, as the club descended immediately as Table again. In the 2009/10 season the club thus played again in the fifth division Baden and took the second place there. In the first relegation round of the league of OFV failed then the Second League of the Federation of Baden, FC Germania Friedrichstal (1:1 and 2:3 ). In the following season the club then managed sovereign, with three games left in the season, the renewed rise in the league. In the season 2011/ 12, it should only give a sporty relegated from the league after withdrawal of VfL Kirchheim / Teck and the change of FV Illertissen in the new Regionalliga Bayern for the season 2012/13. Through a close second with 10 points from four games, the OFV secured on the last game in the league. After a 2-0 win against SV Linx could win in the same season for the fifth time in club history the South Baden Club Cup and drew for the first time in 25 years back in the DFB-Pokal one in which one in the first round against FC St. Pauli played, but lost 0:3.

Others

Between the Offenburger FV and the football school of SC Freiburg, a cooperation agreement in the field of youth was decided in 2006. The OFV was the first base of SC Freiburg. This means that coaches are trained on courses and training at the SCF. Players who are recommended by performance in OFV, do not switch immediately to SC Freiburg, but are trained in the OFV further. Only later, when a player has further profiled the club move to Freiburg to take place.

Stadium

The Offenburger FV plays its home games at Karl Heitz Stadium. The pure football stadium holds 15,000 spectators and has a grandstand with 500 seats.
