Okan Öztürk

Okan Öztürk ( born November 30, 1977 in Merzifon ) is a former Turkish football player. Through his many years of service Çaykur Rizespor he is associated with this club. On fan and club sides, he is regarded as one of the greatest players in the club's history. With 127 Erstligaeinsätzen for Rizespor he is Turgut Kural (132 inserts), Metin Bak (131 inserts) and Muharrem Vizier (131 inserts) the player with the fourth most Süper Lig inserts the club's history. In addition, he is with 28 league goals in the list of players with most Süper Lig gates for Rizespor in the first place.

Career

Öztürk started with the club football in the youth department of his home club Merzifonspor. Having played here until 1994, he was inducted into the senior squad. In the pros he made it quickly into the starting eleven and fell through performance the clubs of the top leagues. So the capital club PTT SK him committed in the summer of 1996. Öztürk contributed 14 league goals to this success and formed with his strike partner Yunus Altun, who was top scorer in the second league with 24 goals, the most successful strike duo of this second division season. Back in the Süper Lig kept Öztürk despite often changing coaches his place and played another three years here as a regular player.

In summer 2006, Öztürk Rizespor left again and moved within it Süper Lig club Gençlerbirliği for capital Ankara. In this club he experienced in his two-year time several coaching change. Despite the coaching change Öztürk completed almost all mandatory games of his team and ranked among the top scorers of his team. In the season 2006/ 07 with his team of sixth place in the table and in the Turkish Football Cup of the season 2007/ 08 he succeeded in the finals. In the finals they lost on penalties Kayserispor 10:11 and so missed the third final victory of the club's history.

For the season 2008/ 09 he returned to his now in the TFF 1 Lig back playing old club Rizespor. Here he played only one season and then left the club towards league rival Karşıyaka SK. In this club he was in his first season with 13 league goals scorer of his club. After he fell short of expectations in his second season and was able to achieve only one goal of the season, he left in 2011 Karşıyaka in summer.

After a year of activities at Bozüyükspor and Yeni Malatyaspor Öztürk finished summer 2013 his active career.
