Olav Lundanes

Olav Lundanes (born 11 November 1987) is a Norwegian orienteering. Lundanes in 2010 in Trondheim World Champion on the long distance.

2005 Lundanes was Junior World Champion on the long distance and with the Norwegian season in the Swiss Tenero. In 2007, he won the Junior World Championship titles over the medium and long distance in Dubbo, Australia. In the same year he arrived in Kiev for the first time at a World Cup use in the assets. He was inducted in the sprint and reached in this competition 36th. Lundanes strength lies mainly in running in forest areas as well as on the longer routes. In this he was, from 2008 frequently used by the Norwegian Association. However, in the 2008 European Championships in Ventspils he came on long-haul does not have a 19 square. In 2009 he approached the world's best but a good deal on, after he fourth in the sprint and seventh in the long line was at the World Championships in Miskolc, Hungary. The big breakthrough reached Lundanes in the 2010 season. At the European Championships, he won the Norwegian relay bronze. His first major gold medal he finally won at the World Championships in Trondheim. He won here competition in the long distance ahead of his countryman Anders Nordberg and Frenchman Thierry Gueorgiou. Three days later he secured together Carl Waaler Kaas and Audun Weltzien the silver medal in the relay behind Russia.

Lundanes running since 2009 for the Norwegian club Halden SK. By 2003, he ran for the club emblem IL. From 2004 to 2008, he started for Østmarka OK, with whom he also participated three times in the Jukola Relay competition in Finland.
