Old Ideas
Old Ideas is the twelfth studio album by Leonard Cohen and appeared in Germany and Europe on 27 January 2012 and on 31 January 2012 in the United States. The album was made available on 22 and 23 January on various Internet sites for free and legal stream.
It was produced by Patrick Leonard (previously inter alia, Pink Floyd and Madonna), Anjani Thomas, Ed Sanders and Dino Soldo.

Reception
The album received mostly great reviews, which is a Metascore of 86 % occupied as an average of 21 professional reviews.
The Daily Telegraph, for example, gives the album a perfect score and speaks of "the work of a genius ." The Rolling Stone rated the album four and a half out of five, and the emphasis the lyrics out, the " reach for the power of prayers, hymns and religious puzzles " would
Pitchfork Media rated the album 7.4 out of 10 and stated that it was not the best album that Cohen had ever released, but not cheap or trivial. The songs are neat, the singing, however overwhelming. Stylistically, the album was arranged sparingly and cautiously, in blues and gospel rooted and perhaps closest to folk music, of all that Cohen has published since the 1970s.
Also in the German media, the album was rated mostly positive, including from laut.de with four out of five points and Plattentests.de with eight out of ten.
