Oleksandr Anatolijowytsch Sawarow (Ukrainian Олександр Анатолійович Заваров; Russian Александр Анатольевич Заваров / Alexander Anatoljevich Sawarow ) also known under the English spelling Aleksandr Zavarov; Born April 20, 1961 in Lugansk ( Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet and Ukrainian football player and current coach.

Career

Sawarow played for the Zarya Woroschilowgrad (1977-1979, 1982 and today Zorya Luhansk ), SKA Rostov ( 1980-1981), and Dynamo Kiev ( 1983-1988 ). With Kiev, he won the 1986 European Cup Winners' Cup. Sawarow played 41 times for the Soviet national football team and scored six goals.

He finished his career with Juventus (1989-1991) and at AS Nancy Lorraine ( 1991-1995).

Sawarow was in August 2003 coach of FC Wil, as he, however, the UEFA Pro license had not, he was there for a year sporting director. In 2004, he coached the Kazakh club FK Astana and 2005, the Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv. In 2006 he was the head coach of the Ukrainian club Arsenal Kiev.
