Oliver Bjorkstrand

Oliver Bjorkstrand (* April 10, 1995 in Herning ) is a Danish professional ice hockey player who plays since 2012 with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League for the position of right winger. His older brother Patrick and his father Todd was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Bjorkstrand whose born in the United States, father Todd moved to Denmark in 1988, came in 1995 in Herning to the world. There he played in his youth in the hockey junior department of Herning IK. For this club and his father had spent his entire professional career in Denmark and accepted the coaching job after his career end.

At the age of 15 years, Oliver Bjorkstrand in the U20 selection of Herning IK to permanent missions. In the 2010/11 season he reached 13 goals in 11 games and another three assists. Six additional inserts team scores a goal and seven assists followed in the play-offs. His exceptional talent were honored by the club with the first appointment to the second seniors team. Internationally

Bjorkstrand represented his native Denmark for the first time at the U20 World Youth Championship in 2012., Where the striker came in all six games at his older brother Patrick the side for use.
