Olivier Chastel

Olivier Chastel ( born November 22, 1964 in Liège ) is a Belgian politician of the Mouvement Réformateur ( MR). As local politicians of the opposition he received in Charleroi celebrity when he revealed the facts that triggered the so-called " Carolorégienne affair" and finally brought down the Walloon Prime Minister Jean -Claude Van Cauwenberghe (PS). Today Chastel is the current Federal Minister for the Budget and Administrative Simplification in the government Di Rupo.

Life

Olivier Chastel is a qualified pharmacist ( Université libre de Bruxelles, 1987). After several years of research, he transferred to a private sector sheep Royal pharmaceutical companies.

His political career began in 1993 when Chastel was elected to the municipal council of Charleroi.
