Omanaia

Omanaia is a settlement in the Far North district in the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand. It lies about east of Hokianaga Harbour on State Highway 12 The nearest locations are Oue about 3 km to the west and Waima about 6 km northeast. About side streets west of Omanaia has links to both the north situated on a spur of the port settlement Ohuri, and after Rawene. From this results a ferry across the harbor to Rangiora. northeast of the town there is a golf course.

In the 1830s the Maori chief of Omanaia, Papahurihia was the leader of a nationalist movement against the spread of Christianity around the Hokianga.

The primary school of Omanaia School is a co-educational school for grades 1 through 8 and in 2009 had a decile rating of 3 and 37 students.
