Omar Sey

Omar B. A. Sey ( b. 1941 ) was Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gambia.

Sey is a Gambian politician. He was a member of the Cabinet of The Gambia under President Dawda Jawara as foreign minister from 1987 to 1994. With the military coup of 22 July 1994 he was deposed by the entire government. The Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council, took over until the elections in 1996 the government.

Sey, who played football previously was also president of the Gambia Football Association. From 1976 to 1988 he was also president of the Gambia National Olympic Committee and helped with that Gambia was the first time take part in the Summer Olympic Games in 1984.
