Omuthiya is a city in Namibia and the capital of Oshikoto region. It was after the Omuthiya gwIipundi (as much as meaning " camel thorn tree with benches for rest " ) named. The town has 3800 inhabitants in an area of 132.1 square kilometers. Omuthiya is in the same constituency.

Omuthiya was up to the elevation to city status in 2008 an insignificant settlement. With the city status, the city was also named the capital of Oshikoto Region and Tsumeb denied this status. In August 2008, built for 22 million Namibian dollars regional administration has already been opened. Further hotel facilities there is a station on the railway line Tsumeb Oshikango, hospital and shopping center.
