Onguday

Ongudai (Russian Онгудай ) is a large village ( selo ) in the autonomous Republic of Altai ( southwestern Siberia, Russia) with 5655 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 130 km south of the Republic capital of Gorno - Altaisk and how these in the catchment area of the left and largest Whether source Katun river, to its left tributary Ursul. Northeast of Ongudai reach the mountains of the Altai and Katun Ursul between altitudes of 1900 meters and is forested there until the summit documents. Infrastructure

Ongudai is located on the M52 highway that goes up from Novosibirsk and Gorno- Altaisk coming to south in the Russian Altai. The nearly 1,900 m high Seminski Pass, over which it crosses the watershed between the Katun tributaries Sjoma and Ursul, located about 50 km north west of the town.
