The operetta house is a theater on Spielbudenplatz in Hamburg.

History

The theater was opened in 1841 after the model in Vienna under the name Circus Gymnasticus with 3000 seats. In 1864 the name was changed to Central Hall. The building burned down in 1876, but was opened just a year later. The name operetta house in Hamburg was awarded the Today's Musical Theater 1920. 2007 the operetta house in Hamburg was renamed TUI operetta house. The theater hall can accommodate 1338 guests.

In October 2011, the TUI operetta house for 7.1 million euros of Stage Entertainment was acquired.

Programs

In the operetta house was, inter alia, the German premiere of the scandal - Musical revue Oh! Calcutta! by Kenneth Tynan (1971 ), Homesick for St. Pauli with Freddy Quinn and Fiddler on the Roof performed with Shmuel Rodensky before after financial problems the theater for a symbolic price was sold to Musical operator.
