Örebro University

The University of Örebro (Swedish: Örebro universitet ) is a public university in the Swedish town of Örebro, with around 17,000 students and 1,100 academic staff.
The Örebro University goes to the college founded in 1977, Örebro (Swedish: högskolan i Örebro ) back and received university status in 1999. It is divided today into four faculties:
- Faculty of Ekonomie, natural and technical science
- Faculty of Human and Social Sciences
- Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Center for Teacher Education
The motto of the university is Dulce est sapere.
Among the former students of the football coach Sven -Goran Eriksson and Göran Persson, Prime Minister of Sweden, are to be mentioned. Persson, who studied sociology at Örebro 1969-1971, but never graduated, received in 2005 from the University honorary doctorate, which led to some criticism.
Medical studies
Since 2011 the ORU has the right to examine doctors; in January 2011 the first students started term and are expected after the summer semester ( vårtermin ) in 2016 to complete the study. In order of increasing space requirements to become master, a new building was built following the Örebro University Hospital (Campus USÖ ) and inaugurated in 2014. Is being conducted training from the Institute for Medical Education ( ILU ) within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
