Orelsan
Orelsan ( born August 1, 1982 in Alençon, real name Aurélien Cotentin ) is a French rapper.
Band History
Aurélien Cotentin went into Caen to school. He began to rap and took the name Orelsan, where Orel was the short form of his name and san, the Japanese suffix for "Lord", a reference to his fondness for manga. At age 17, he met Guilaume Tranchant alias Gringe. They founded the hip- hop duo Casseurs flow Marketers and released two mixtapes.
Then the two joint project could grind and Orelsan began with solo releases. From 2007 he published his own songs and in 2009 made his successful debut with his first album Perdu d' avance in France and Belgium in the charts. In 2011 he had his first hit single then with RaelSan and the next second album Le chant des sirènes reached number three in France and lasted for nearly one and a half years in the Top 200 In Switzerland and in Belgium, he was so successful. There also Stromae noticed him and invited him for a guest post on his album Racine carrée one. The common song AVF ( Allez- vous faire) was also in the charts.
Over the years working with Gringe was never demolished and in 2013 the two decided to let Casseurs flow Marketers revived and released the album together Orelsan et sont les Gringe Casseurs flow Marketers.
