Orus

Orus is a commune with 29 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ariège in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It belongs to the district of Foix, to Canton Vicdessos and founded in 2002 Association of Municipalities Auzat - Vicdessos. The inhabitants of Orus are called Orusiens.

Geography

The small community of Orus is located high above the valley of Vicdessos in the Pyrenees, 25 km south-southwest of Foix and about 15 kilometers north of the border with Andorra ( straight line ). The territory of Orus is part of the Regional Natural Park Pyrenees Ariégeoises. The highest elevation in the town is 1984 m above sea level, the Pic de Boucarle.

Population
