Luzenac

Luzenac is situated in the Pyrenees a town with 551 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ariège in France.

In the village are the church of Saint -Martin of 1656 and a bridge, which was first mentioned in the 14th century. Economically still plays the processing of talc a central role, which is mined since the late 19th century primarily located on Luzenacs municipality talc quarry Trimouns. Funding is provided by Talc de Luzenac, one of the world's biggest sponsors of the mineral, which is part of the Imerys group. Be reduced to the present 400,000 tonnes per year. Currently hanging 270 fixed and 70 seasonal jobs in Luzenac of this mineral.

Local football club is Luzenac Ariège Pyrénées named to 2012 U.S. Luzenac.
