Osler's node

Osler 's nodes (named after the Canadian physician Sir William Osler ( 1849-1919 ) ) are small subcutaneous, painful, inflammatory erythematous, hemorrhagic lesions (pathological lesion ), most of which are signs of microemboli or immune complex vasculitis in the context of infective endocarditis. They occur especially on finger and toe crests, and in the thenar and Hypothenargebiet, but also on the arms and legs. It is characterized by a group arrangement of the often occurring hundreds node. They usually heal after a few days out from under scaling.

The Osler 's nodes are not to be confused with the disease Osler.

Very similar are Janeway lesions, the difference is that the latter are not painful to pressure.
