Osterholz Geest

The Easter Holzer Geest is an undulating, sandy moraine between the cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven and Bremervörde.

Geography

The Easter Holzer Geest is the southern part of the Weser mouths Geest. To the west it borders the Easter Stade called marshland on the east bank of the Weser River and in the east on the Hammeniederg with the Devil's Moor. To the north it merges into the lowlands broken by Geest ridge between the coastal marshes and the Wursten Oste, which forms the northern part of the Weser mouths Geest. In the south, it ranges as high banks up to the rivers Weser and Lesum. This sharp Geestrand continues northeastward by the municipality and the county seat Ritterhude Osterholz- Beck, in the area of Bremervorde continued. There, the Easter Holzer Geest touches at Karlshöfen the Zevener Geest. Colonization and vegetation

In the south of Easter Holzer Geest extends from Schwanewede, Bremen -Nord, Ritterhude and Osterholz- Beck existing urban ribbon. The rest is sparsely populated. Cultural monuments
