Otakar Kubín

Otakar Kubin ( born October 22, 1883 in Boskovice; † 7 October 1969 in Marseille, French form of the name Othon Coubine ) was an internationally renowned Czech- French painter, printmaker and sculptor. He was a member of the Prague artist group " The Eight". In 1913 he was able to issue five images at the First German Autumn Salon in Berlin. In 1912 he went to France, took the name Coubine and became a French citizen in 1926.

His works are mainly associated with Impressionism. He was influenced by Art by Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. He was friends with Pablo Picasso.
