Otto, Count of Lippe-Brake

Otto von Lippe- Brake ( * September 21, 1589, † November 18, 1657 in Blomberg ), Count of Lippe -Brake.

Life

Otto was born on September 21, 1589, the son of Simon VI. to the lip and Elizabeth Holstein-Schaumburg, (* 1556 ) was born.

When the father died, took over the elder brother Otto, Simon VII to the lip of the state government, while the reasoned youngest, Philip I of Schaumburg -Lippe, later in Biickeburg own ruling line Schaumburg -Lippe. In 1621 the country was again divided and Otto founded the Lippe-Brake line, which became extinct in 1709.

Under the company name The Brown he was accepted as a member of the Fruitbearing society.

On October 5, 1626 he married Margarethe von Nassau- Dillenburg ( born September 6, 1606 Beilstein, † 1661), daughter of Georg von Nassau- Dillenburg, with whom he had 12 children.

Otto died on November 18, 1657 in Blomberg.

Otto and his wife had 12 children. Dorothea is considered as the sixth child.
