The Ouagadougou Airport is the largest airport of Burkina Faso, located in the center of the capital Ouagadougou. The airport, which can accommodate up to 500,000 passengers, has a terminal and two gates.

Generally

The Ouagadougou Airport has two runways with a length of 1911 meters ( 04R/22L ) and 3028 meters ( 04L/22R ). The latter is fixed with asphalt and allow the machine a ILS approach. The shorter runway is equipped with an extremely rare covering for runways, namely laterite. At the airport there are several important facilities such as a post office, a bank and several restaurants and cafes. A taxi company transports passengers arrived in the capital.

The airport is large enough to accommodate a Boeing 747. The five parking positions several aircraft can be handled simultaneously. For Cargo machines suitable clearances may accept up to 100,000 tonnes of cargo.

Airlines and destinations

Ouagadougou is not directly served from German speaking countries. Air France flies daily via Paris, Brussels Airlines via Brussels weekly, Air Burkina twice a week via Paris -Orly and the charter company Point Afrique also via Paris. Air Burkina connects the capital with several African cities. Several African airlines serve the airport.
