Ovanåker

Ovanåker is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Gävleborg and the historical province of Hälsingland. It belongs to the same community, however, is not its main town, and is located six kilometers east of Edsbyn.

The name Ovanåker derived from the name of the village church, which is first documented in 1542 as Offuanååker. The Church of Ovanåker dates from the year 1621st
