Özkan Yorgancıoğlu

Özkan Yorgancioglu (* 1954 in Lempa, Paphos district ) is a nordzyprischer politicians. He's since 2013 Prime Minister of the internationally unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Yorgancioglu was born in 1954 in the village of Lempa in the southwest of the British colony of Cyprus. He studied at the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University and graduated in 1980 in political science. He is married and has two daughters.

He joined in 1974 in the Republican- Turkish Party ( CTP) a. In 2011 he followed Ferdi Sabit Soyer as party chairman.

In the cabinet of Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer he was from January 2004 to September 2006 Minister of Youth and Sports. In the parliamentary elections of 2006, 2009 and 2013, he was elected in the constituency of Nicosia from Parliament. After the CTP -BG was the strongest party in the early general elections on July 28, 2013 the Interrims - government resigned under Sibel Siber.
