Densiflorum Pachypodium is a plant of the genus Pachypodium in the family of the dogbane family ( Apocynaceae ).
Description
Pachypodium densiflorum is a perennial plant, with a strongly thickened stem, which reaches a height of 70 cm and a diameter of 2 m. From the trunk originates a variety of thick, tapering branches that are increasingly dense staffed up with spines and finely tomentose, grayish - white hairs. The leaves are up to 10 cm long and 5 cm wide, its bottom is hairy.
The flowers are in groups of up to ten to 25 to 40 cm long pedicles. You are deep yellow, only in cultivar has also white. They have a diameter of 1.5 to 3 cm. In the middle of splaying Corolla lobe is clearly highlighted the stamens.
The fruits are 11-15 cm long and measure 8 mm in diameter. The seeds are 4 to 6 mm long.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in the central part of Madagascar.

- Pachypodium densiflorum var brevicalyx
Natural hybrids with brevicaule Pachypodium ( Pachypodium × rauhii ) and Pachypodium known horombense. In addition, a Kulturhyrbide has been bred with rosulatum Pachypodium ( Pachypodium × hojnyi ).
