Pacific Air Forces

The Pacific Air Forces ( PACAF; German Pacific Air Forces ) form in addition to the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE ) is one of two regional orientation of the nine major commands of the United States Air Force ( USAF) and serve as a component command of air forces within the parent United States Pacific Command ( USPACOM ). Equipment

The equipment includes about 325 aircraft of different types: Approximately 265 combat aircraft (F -15, F -16, F -22, A-10), nearly 40 transport aircraft (C -12, C -17, C -21, C -37, C-40, C -130), as well as some tanker aircraft (KC -135 ), reconnaissance aircraft ( e-3) and helicopters ( UH -1, HH -60).

History

First, the Far East Air Forces were established and activated on 3 August of the same year in Brisbane, Australia on 31 July 1944. On December 6, 1945 the renamed Pacific Air Command, from which on 1 January 1947 again the Far East Air Forces were carried out. Since July 1, 1957 Pacific Air Forces exist today.
