Paddy Burke

Patrick " Paddy " Burke (Irish Pádraig de Búrca, born January 15, 1955) is an Irish politician (Fine Gael ) and belongs since 1993 to the Seanad Éireann, the upper house of the Irish Parliament, whose presidency as Cathaoirleach since 25 May he 2011 holds.

Burke attended the Ballinafad College in Castlebar, the. Rockwell College of Agriculture, and the Franciscan Brothers Agricultural College in Mount Bellew, County Galway

In 1993, he was first elected to Seanad Éireann in the Fine Gael. In the subsequent elections, he was able to defend his position always. During the 22nd and 23rd Seanad Éireann, he served as Deputy Senate President ( Leas Cathaoirleach ).

Prior to his election to the Seanad Éireann he had already since 1979 the Mayo County Council consulted. With the abolition Dual mandates he left this out, however.

Burke is married.
