Pallipattu (Tamil: பள்ளிப்பட்டு Paḷḷippaṭṭu [ p ː ˌ paɭi aʈ ː ɯ ], also Pallipat ) is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with nearly 9,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ).

Pallippattu is located in the district of Tiruvallur in the north Tamil Nadu, about 115 kilometers west of the capital, Chennai (Madras ) directly on the border of the neighboring Federal State of Andhra Pradesh. The city is the capital of taluks Pallipattu. By Pallipattu the Korttalaiyar River flows.

During the British colonial period Pallupattu belonged to the district of Chittoor of the Madras Presidency. After Indian independence the place ( 1956 Andhra Pradesh ) came in 1953 along with the District Chittoor to the newly formed from the Telugu northern part of the State of Madras state of Andhra. Because of its predominantly Tamil population in 1960 but Pallipattu (1969 renamed Tamil Nadu ) slammed together with Tiruttani the now newly formed according to the linguistic boundaries of the state of Tamil Madras.
