The Panaro is a river in the Italian region Emilia -Romagna. He is a right tributary of the Po.

The length of the Panaro is 148 km; the river has a catchment area of ​​2292 km ². It is usually dry in the summer. It rises near the highest peak of the Etruscan Apennines, Monte Cimone ( 2165 m slm ), and there carries the name Rio delle Tagliole ( "Bach of the Fallen" ). Then it flows down the valley to the northeast. From Pievepelago in the province of Modena he calls himself Scoltenna, thereafter to be referred from the field of Pavullo nel Frignano as Panaro. While this route is at the limit between the two mountain communities of Frignano and from the Apennines in eastern Modena dar.
