Paolo Martin

Paolo Martin ( born May 7, 1943 in Turin ) is an Italian designer.

Professional Development

After training in Turin Martin began his career in 1960 in the field of automotive design in the studio of Giovanni Michelotti. From 1966 he worked for Bertone to 1967 to switch to Pininfarina. In the following five years designed Martin - often in collaboration with Leonardo Fioravanti - a series of outstanding, meanwhile, classic automobiles, which were sometimes mere styling studies, but in many cases with few changes in series, were partially produced in large series. Of particular importance here were the designs of the Fiat 130 Coupe and the Rolls- Royce Camargue. Martin referred to today in 1970 by Pininfarina Modulo as his most successful design.

After a brief collaboration with the Carrozzeria Ghia in 1971, Martin 1972 settled as a freelance designer. In the early years he designed a number of motorcycles for the Group to de Tomaso owned brands Benelli and Moto Guzzi and Gilera. Parallel emerged more designs for automobiles, many of which were studies and single pieces. Martin now designs besides land vehicles especially boats and utensils.
