Papamoa

Papamoa is with 17,500 inhabitants ( estimate of 2007), the largest suburb of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty region on the northeastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Papamoa has several kilometers of white sand beach, extending from Mount Maunganui in the west to the mouth of the Kaituna River to the east. A dense population of the area did not begin until the 1980s. Was Papamoa until then essentially rural in nature, Papamoa is now one of the fastest growing residential areas of New Zealand. The population of Papamoa increased since 1981 by over 600%. This is due on the one hand the general popularity of seaside locations, close to Tauranga and also the shops created in the once unterversortgen place. On the other hand, a large part of the once extensive paddocks was installed around the place and the real estate prices skyrocketed.

Papamoa is also for fishing, surfing and the Papamoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park.
