Papyrus 56

Papyrus 56 ( Gregory- Aland Sigel 56 referred ) is a early Greek copy of the New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript of the Book of Acts contains only the verses 1,1.4-5.7.10-11. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 6th or 7th century.

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type. Aland placed it in Category II.

The manuscript is currently in the Austrian National Library, under the signatures Pap Vindob. 19918 G. and G. 19927 held in Vienna.
