Parallel voting

The grave electoral system is a voting system in which multiple choice procedures are used together side by side and without offsetting (parallel election without compensation, therefore, in the English parallel voting ). Most of the grave electoral system a part of the seats will be awarded in Einpersonenwahlkreisen and the other according to the principle of proportional representation. It does not necessarily have two votes are cast, the decisive factor is simply that there are two completely separate seat allocation methods.

The term comes from the fact that the grave electoral system the direct mandates would no longer be counted on the list mandates, unlike the present-day West German electoral system. To come to the Parliament between the two species, it is seen as a ditch.
