Parkmore distillery

Parkmore, was a whiskey distillery in Dufftown, Banffshire, Moray, Scotland. The fire produced was thus the associate Speyside Whisky Region. It lay near the still active distilleries Glendullan and Glenfiddich. The distillery buildings are sorted in the Scottish lists of monuments in the B category.

History

The distillery was founded in 1894 by the Parkmore Distillery Co. for the production of malt whiskey. Around 1900, James Watson & Co. took over the company, which in turn were taken over in 1923 by John Dewar & Sons. 1925 the distillery came into the hands of Distillers Company Ltd.. (DCL ) and finally Scottish Malt Distillers 1930 ( SMD), 1931 einstellten operation permanently. The warehouses were subsequently used any longer. Numerous buildings of the old Parkmore Distillery are up to today and it is considered the best preserved distillery from the time of the whiskey boom in the late Victorian era.
