Glenfiddich distillery in Scotland
Glenfiddich (pronounced with a hard "ch " as in " Bach" [ ɡlenfɪdɪx ], Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhaich, " Hirschtal ") is a whiskey distillery in Dufftown in the former county of Banffshire in Scotland.
History
The Glenfiddich distillery in the homonymous valley in Speyside in the Scottish Highlands was built in 1886 by William Grant and his family, the stills were from the old Cardhu distillery. Christmas 1887 began the first production of whiskey. Since then, the distillery produces the same place with the same manufacturing process with one of the smallest stills Scottish distilleries. The company is still owned by the Grant family.
In 1963, no more glare could be made of the fire, as the distillery no delivery to grain whiskey got more. So the family decided to bottle whiskey made from pure barley malt and sell and only from that date began the modern marketing of single-malt whiskeys.
Glenfiddich is one of the most successful whiskey producers whose whiskey whose triangular shape of the bottle is almost all over the world available and typical of the distillery. The taste is very mild and therefore facing a wide clientele.
Production
The water from the distillery comes from the Robbie Dubh sources. It has two Mashtuns stainless steel and 24 washbacks (collectively, 1,440,000 l) of Douglas fir wood. Is distilled in 10 Washstills ( per 9,100 l) and 18 spirit stills ( per 4,550 l) which are distributed almost equally between two lactation rooms. Glenfiddich is one of the most successful and best known single malts. In addition to his quality of this success is likely to the early pastimes as Single Malt Whisky ( 1963) and have contributed to the opening of a visitor center in 1969. The distillery can be visited without entry fees.
On the grounds of the distillery is the belonging to the group Balvenie distillery. Furthermore, the whiskey is stored in 45 warehouses in the immediate vicinity of the distillery and places it in its own cooperage and coppersmiths the barrels for storage of used barrel staves themselves forth.

With the exception of the Glenfiddich 30 yo ( 43%) of all whiskeys are bottled with an alcohol content of 40 % and stained with dye caramel.
