Partition of Triparadisus

At the conference of Triparadeisos in 320 BC ( BC often dated, especially in the earlier research in the year 321) placed the winner of the first Diadochenkrieges ( Diadochi = Greek, successors ' ) after the end of the Imperial regent Perdiccas a new distribution of power for the empire of Alexander firmly. They modified the case immediately after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC Babylonian Empire agreed order.

At this conference, which was held in the Syrian Triparadeisos near the sources of the Orontes, Antipater was appointed as the new Reich Regent, as well as a bodyguard corps ( Somatophylakes ) for the kings Philip III. Arrhidaios and Alexander IV Aigos formed.

Furthermore, a reorganization of the provinces ( satrapies ) of the empire was made. The list given here is based on the so-called " Triparadeisos list" of the historian Arrian ( Tà metà Aléxandron FGrHist 156 F9 § § 34-38). Governor marked with an asterisk * have already been confirmed in the Babylonian empire and order in their provinces.
