Patrice Pellat-Finet

Patrice Pellat - Finet ( born August 29, 1952 in Villard -de- Lans ) is a French former alpine skier. He was in the 1970s one of the best French skier, took three times at the World Championships and Olympic Games in part, drove in the World Cup six times in the top ten and in 1978 became Hahnenkamm winner.

Career

In his first major event, the 1974 World Cup in St. Moritz, ranked Pellat - Finet 27th place in the downhill - which he was the best of the French team. Nearly a year later, he won his first World Cup points in ninth place in the Hahnenkamm downhill in Kitzbühel on 18 January 1975. On 1 February of the same year he was again with tenth place in the downhill and combination of Megève in the top 10 place.

In the season 1975/1976 Pellat - Finet drove in two World Cup downhill into the top ten: He was eighth in Schladming and seventh in Morzine, which he reached his 19th as best overall placement in the downhill World Cup. At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1976, he was the only Frenchman who started the descent. He finished the race in 16th place.

After Pellat - Finet remained in winter 1976/1977 with no World Cup points, but French downhill champion had become, he reached on February 11, 1978 in fifth place in the departure of Les Houches. This was his best World Cup result and at the same time his last points win. A month ago he had won only 36th in the downhill and slalom Rank 22 in the World Cup not to be counted Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel combination. In the 1978 World Cup in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he drove like four years earlier as best Frenchman on the 27th place.
